NutraResearch becomes the first food supplement company in the world to be certified in innovation

The new ISO 56001 for Innovation Management Systems recognizes the robustness and effectiveness of the company’s innovation processes.

“We are the first because we’ve been working this way for a long time”, says NutraResearch CEO, Gemma Casadevall, demonstrating that “we don’t just adapt to change — we lead it”.

NutraResearch has become, this April, the first food supplement company in the world to obtain ISO 56001 certification.

ISO 56001 is a new international standard for Innovation Management Systems that recognizes the strength, structure, and effectiveness of NutraResearch’s innovation processes. It confirms that “we not only create outstanding products, but foster a sustainable culture of innovation”, which, according to CEO Gemma Casadevall, is the company’s foundation. This innovation mindset is what drives the company toward “long-term growth”, she adds.

The scope of this certification covers the entire innovation ecosystem of the company — from idea generation and R&D, to product design and commercialization. It confirms that innovation is fully integrated into all company processes: “They’ve certified our very DNA”, says Casadevall enthusiastically. “In fact, we’re the first because we’ve been working this way for years — so when the certification came out, we were ready to consolidate it right away”.

A Message of Gratitude

Casadevall shared the news internally with the entire NutraResearch team: “This achievement is the direct result of our dedication, creativity, and collaborative spirit”, she said proudly. She also gave special recognition to Javier Sala, Head of the Pilot Plant, who led the certification project.

“This certification belongs to all of us and shows the world that we don’t merely adapt to change — we lead it. We keep pushing boundaries, stepping out of our comfort zone, and setting new standards — creating impact and shaping new trends in the world of health and supplements.”

Innovation as a Growth Engine

Founded in 2011, NutraResearch was created with a clear mission: to revolutionize the food supplement sector. From the start, the company adopted the rigorous standards of the pharmaceutical industry, providing its products with a distinctive value in terms of quality, safety, and efficacy.

“With the recent ISO 56001 certification, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation as a driver of growth. This accreditation supports our pursuit of the highest standards in innovation management. We want to strengthen and thank the trust of our clients by offering cutting-edge, high-quality solutions that meet increasingly demanding expectations for quality, effectiveness, and innovation”, says Casadevall.

NutraResearch’s controlled-release active ingredient tablets have been a game-changer in the industry. Innovation has extended not only to product formulations, but also to presentation formats, such as the launch in 2023 of the industry’s first biodegradable blister pack, enabling brands to meet the highest sustainability standards.

Ongoing Developments

NutraResearch is currently participating in a European consortium to develop and bring to market innovative nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic products derived from plant by-products, in various pharmaceutical forms including capsules, tablets, syrups, and granulates.

This spirit of innovation runs through all of the company’s processes at a time of strong growth, driven by continuous improvement systems. Through the brands it collaborates with, NutraResearch aims to bring innovation to people’s lives, helping to improve their well-being and quality of life.
