This important event recognizes the innovation that NutraResearch brings to the sector, which will present the viability of its new sustainable blister pack, showcasing its commitment to the highest quality while meeting pharmaceutical industry standards.egulatory bodies, is actively embracing innovative technologies and sustainable practices.

Just a year ago, NutraResearch launched an innovative sustainable blister pack to replace the current ones, which are non-recyclable because they combine plastic and aluminum.

During this time, NutraResearch has gathered even more data on the viability of its innovative proposal to make the primary packaging most widely used in the pharmaceutical sector for tablets and capsules completely sustainable. NutraResearch’s sustainable blister is an innovative proposal in thermoformed blister systems that offers moisture protection equivalent to a 120-gram PVDC coating. The results of this revolutionary proposal from the validation studies have attracted significant attention, so much so that the general manager, Gemma Casadevall, will present this advancement for the industry in a poster at the upcoming edition of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) congress.

AAPS’s mission is to empower pharmaceutical scientists to develop products and therapies that improve global health. The congress will take place from October 20 to 23 in Salt Lake City. It is quite revealing that this important pharmaceutical congress has also shown support for presenting research from the dietary supplements industry. NutraResearch is making a decisive contribution to moving the sector toward quality standards similar to those of the pharmaceutical industry. “We are very proud to be able to make this presentation; being in the United States at such a prestigious event marks the culmination of the success of our sustainable platforms, a solution highly valued in this market,” says Casadevall. In fact, NutraResearch is the first company to offer gummies with the ability to release active ingredients in a controlled manner.

AAPS has around 7,000 members and more than 10,000 actively participating organizations, including researchers, industry, government, and other research institutes related to pharmaceutical sciences worldwide.

The pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries are experiencing a wave of innovations that are revolutionizing their traditional manufacturing and characterization processes. The congress highlights the development seen in nutraceuticals and sustainability within the pharmaceutical and excipient industries. In this regard, it notes how “the pharmaceutical industry, in collaboration with academia and regulatory agencies, is actively adopting innovative technologies and sustainable practices.” NutraResearch has become one of the key players in this evolution.
